Feeling anxious about pushing the publish button or wondering if you should review your announcement again?
You are not the only one waiting for perfection. It is time to let it go and execute on your business to get things off the ground.
This year I am embracing imperfect actions, and I hope that you will join me in doing the same thing. The first steps are uncomfortable to make, but the more you do it, the less anxious you will be.
Here are a few tips that could give you a little push to get out of your comfort zone.
Mark your calendar
Set a date in your calendar corresponding to when you plan to have your task done. Don’t set it too far in the future. If you think that you will need several weeks, you should consider dividing your task into smaller ones.
Talk about it
Unless you have an accountability partner or are part of a mastermind group, tell other people your plan so that it will also force you to make it happen. Don’t say something vague, tell them exactly what your task is and when you will have it done.
Focus on getting it done
Now that you have announced what you plan to do, don’t get distracted. Keep in mind the deadline and what you need to do. Be aware that the perfectionist in you might ask you for more time to deliver something better than what you originally planned. Tell this voice that you will improve your work after you get it out and get feedback on it.
Celebrate
Once you are done, let people know about it. Acknowledge your accomplishment. If some areas need improvement and can be changed quickly, fix them right away so that it is done and you can move on to the next step.
