Some changes in my life have motivated me to focus on my health and to bring few changes to my business. It’s my full-time activity, and sometimes, I must adapt my work to my personal life.
I’m pretty excited about what will come next in a few months from now.
When you start your entrepreneurial journey as a side project and something happens in your life that drains your energy or creates frequent fatigue, it is tempting to give up.
I don’t want that to happen to you because once you start working with clients and feel the difference you make, it’s such a rewarding life. This will change you for the better.
So let’s make sure today you won’t give up on your mission when you are going through low energy days.

Make sure you get enough rest and you take care of your health first.
If you are lucky to work from home or if you have a place at work to rest, take a nap when you feel sleepy.
Some people even take a nap in their car during lunch time.
A quick nap will help you stay productive during the day.
Replace guilt with self-awareness
Second, things happen in life and I understand how frustrating it can be when we feel that we underperform.
However don’t feel guilty and don’t beat yourself up when you have low energy days.
Don’t ignore your fatigue. It’s a message that your body sends to you. Listen to it.
Feeling low on energy? Replace guilt with self-awareness.Click To TweetBuild self-awareness of what you are going through.
- How does your fatigue impact your work?
- How do you feel?
- How much time do you have left per day to work on your side project?
Write down, on paper, the answers to the previous questions to have a clearer view on your situation.
Adapt
Now that you face what’s going on, you can look for solutions to adapt your work to your new constraints in terms of time and energy.
You have different options:
- Reduce your number of priorities: could you have just one major task to accomplish per day?
- See how you could simplify or automate some tasks
- Update the list of activities that are essential to bring your project to completion.
- List and remove the tasks that are not important to your business
Find new sources of energy
It can be counter-intuitive, but maybe adding a fun or exciting activity to your week could help boost your energy and keep you positive.
Also, don’t forget to get support from your coach, your friends or from communities you have joined.
It’s tempting to isolate yourself from the world when tired, but if it lasts for weeks or months, connect with others and accept their help.
I still find it’s more challenging to receive than to give, but know that others are also happy to help you and feel they are of service.
Think long term
Remember why your side project matters to you and how it could change your life for the better.
Your health is important. You are on your journey for the long run.
Taking a short break to rest and reflect on how you conduct your work could help you come back revitalized and with a more exciting plan for your business.
In that case, make sure you have an end date for your break; otherwise, there is a risk you will give up on your dream business.

My homework for you this week is to answer these questions:
- How could you simplify what you do?
- What activities could lead to a potential burnout and what changes could you make?
- Are you working on the right activities to build a profitable business?
- If you are on the edge of giving up on your project, who could you contact now for support?
I also have a challenge for you if you are up for it: if you had to focus on only one exciting goal for the next 90 days, what would it be? If you are game, let me know what you plan to do to reach that goal.
Remember, as entrepreneurs, we all go through up and down times. It’s normal.
There is no shame to take time to recharge your batteries and to reflect on your activities so you can get back on your journey with new, fresh ideas in order to build a business you are excited about every day.
You can do it.
Say out loud that you won’t give up on your dream business and that you will make things happen.
Until next time, keep moving forward and take care of your health one day at a time.
