How often are you bombarded with newsletters, quotes or ads telling you to do more, to dream bigger, to be more visible on social media, and to purchase more tools?
Listen to this mini-episode and learn how to regain your sanity.
Have all those pieces of advice worked for you? Or did you end up feeling even more overwhelmed?
There is no right or wrong way to achieve your goals but if doing more of everything hasn’t worked for you, it’s time to get out of that insane cycle and to change what you are doing.
You have nothing to lose.
Break your cycle
Take a break from your work to refuel your energy and find some inner peace.
Your break need not be a long vacation if it isn’t possible; it could just mean taking a day off.
The mistake that most people do is that after their break, they get back to what they were doing before. And it takes little time before the feeling of being overwhelmed takes over their life again.
Here is what you could try instead.
After your break, take another day away from your usual work.
Avoid this mistake when you return to work reenergized.Click To TweetUse a blank canvas to create your new routine
This time, the goal is to step back from you have been doing on a daily and weekly basis.
What if you could start from scratch?
What would be your ideal day and ideal week?
What if you only do activities that make sense to what you want to accomplish? What if you could end every day feeling proud and happy about your work?
What would you do?
How does that ideal week look?
Brainstorm without judging the ideas you come up with.
Create your ideal week and see how you feel about it. If it excites you, then you are on the right track.

Now, because doing too many things or hustling hasn’t worked for you, I would like you to try something different.
Start small and focus on doing only one thing. Do it well, without overwhelm.
Look at your ideal week and go through the list of activities you have created.
Pick the one activity that would bring you closer to the successful outcome you desire.
For example, if you are only getting started on your business and don’t have any clients yet, your first activity could be to validate your idea.
Nothing else.
It means ignoring the course about getting better at Facebook ads, as well as no need to spend hours every day on Instagram to test new tricks to gain more followers. You get the picture.
Free your mind and free your agenda from all other activities that you added during your pursuit of more.
Get better and deeper at what you do
Focus on getting better at that one important activity.
When you feel ready for more, you won’t feel as overwhelmed when you add one new activity.
By focusing on one activity at a time, you will get better and deeper at what you do.
You will also notice faster what works and what doesn’t work in what you do.
Focus on tracking one progress at a time.
Doing less will help you feel less overwhelmed and more energized.
You will then open your eyes to deeper challenges hiding behind your busyness.
Take the time to face reality to see what holds you back from doing work that matters most.
And keep moving the needle toward creating a more fulfilling life.
Doing less is difficult. But, it could be the change you need to transform your life.
I know it works as I see the difference in excitement and confidence with my clients who choose to focus on one project at a time.
Take action
For this week, I challenge you to schedule your break and to block some time to reflect on the one activity that would make a big difference in your life.
If you are truly committed to creating that change in your life, let me know in the comment section below what you plan to focus on. And I will hold you accountable for making it happen.
If you need help to stay focused and to implement your project, let’s have a chat.
Until next time, make time to reflect on what matters most to you and keep moving forward.
